For funeral, Janazah, burial, Khatam, or family-support coordination, please contact Imam Shadman directly. The guide below brings ICF’s essential next steps and local resources together in one place.
Immediate help
For an active emergency, call 911. For an immediate or same-day need, do not rely on email alone; please also call ICF using the number on the Contact page.

- Natural crying is permissible; avoid wailing or other expressions prohibited in Islam.
- Notify close family and begin arrangements without unnecessary delay.
Information to have available
A funeral provider may ask the next of kin for:
- Legal name, address, phone number, and employment status
- Social Security number
- California driver license or other identification
Privacy note: Do not send sensitive personal information through this website or ordinary email. Provide it directly to the authorized funeral provider when requested.
Ghusl, Kafan, and timing
- Tell the coordinator about Ghusl and Kafan preferences and identify the next of kin who can authorize arrangements.
- Paperwork and coordination generally take two to three hours once all parties are available.
- Same-day burial may be possible when death occurs before 8:00 AM; otherwise arrangements commonly continue the next day.
- Weekends, county certificates, cemetery hours, and provider availability can affect timing.
- Janazah is commonly held after Dhuhr, with Ghusl completed beforehand.
Community care after a death
Family and community members should help the bereaved household with meals and practical needs, especially during the first three days. Please coordinate respectfully and avoid creating additional work for the family.
For Janazah and burial support, families may also contact South Bay Islamic Association, MCA, or Masjid Abu Bakr in Hayward.
